Li Qiang urges China and Laos to strengthen practical collaboration

Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the need for enhanced practical cooperation between China and Laos to build a community with a shared future during his meeting with Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Lao president. China is committed to increasing the benefits for both nations through high standards and quality cooperation.

Li highlighted the strong socialist bond between China and Laos over the past 60 years, with a focus on strategic communication between leaders for future collaboration. He stressed the importance of deepening political trust and strengthening cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and infrastructure projects like the China-Laos Railway.

Both leaders expressed their dedication to expanding people-to-people exchanges and further aligning their development strategies through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative. Thongloun affirmed Laos’s support for China’s core interests and global initiatives, signaling a commitment to elevating bilateral cooperation for mutual benefits.
