UN investigators have accused Israel of deliberately targeting health facilities and committing crimes against humanity in Gaza. The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry stated that Israel is actively destroying Gaza’s healthcare system as part of a broader attack on the region, involving war crimes and extermination.

Established in May 2021 by the UN Human Rights Council, the commission’s latest report details the ongoing conflict following an attack by Hamas. It also sheds light on the mistreatment of Palestinian detainees in Israel and hostages in Gaza, citing instances of torture and gender-based violence perpetrated by both Israeli and Palestinian armed groups.

Israel has refuted the allegations, claiming bias and rejecting previous accusations of committing crimes against humanity in Gaza. The situation remains tense as international scrutiny intensifies.
