Hezbollah must surrender arms to protect Lebanon – Ya Libnan

Lebanon Faces a Turning Point: Hezbollah’s Decline and the Path to Stability

Written by Ya Libnan Editorial Board

Over the past 42 years, Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has failed to fulfill its mission of liberating Palestinian territories from Israeli occupation. Despite its efforts and alliances, Hezbollah has seen major setbacks, including a recent devastating explosion that killed top fighters and leaders.

Israel’s recent attacks on Hezbollah, coupled with Iran’s distancing from the group, have left Hezbollah isolated and leaderless. The once powerful militant organization now struggles to maintain its influence amid internal and external challenges.

Lebanon, particularly its Shiite community, has been greatly impacted by Hezbollah’s actions. The country faces economic collapse, political paralysis, and social unrest. It is now time for Hezbollah to prioritize Lebanon’s stability by disarming and aligning with the Lebanese Army to protect the nation and its people.

As Lebanon stands at a crossroads, Hezbollah has the opportunity to pave the way for a brighter future by relinquishing its arms and supporting the country’s recovery. It is a crucial moment for Hezbollah to shift its focus towards Lebanon’s interests and the well-being of its citizens, especially the Shiite community that has suffered the most from its allegiance to Iran.
