Four arrested, €8.5m of cannabis seized in Dublin

Four men have been arrested in Dublin after a significant drug bust. Gardaí seized €8.5 million worth of cannabis during a planned search of a business premises in the Ballymount area. The operation, known as Operation Tara, led to the discovery of 429kg of cannabis. The men, aged between 31 and 58, were arrested for facilitating a criminal organization in drug trafficking.

The joint effort between the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau, the Tallaght Drug Unit, and Revenue highlights a commitment to combatting drug trafficking networks. Assistant Commissioner Justin Kelly emphasized the importance of targeting those who aid and abet criminal organizations. The suspects are currently in custody at Dublin garda stations.

This latest operation is part of ongoing efforts to make Ireland a challenging environment for drug traffickers. The success of this bust demonstrates the dedication of law enforcement in intercepting illegal activities and keeping communities safe.
