EU Supports Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace Project
The European Union has expressed its support for Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project, aimed at establishing peace and normal relations in the region while opening transport routes. Vassilis Maragos, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, highlighted the EU’s active collaboration with partners in Armenia to implement this initiative during the Crossroads of Peace: Combining Security and Democracy conference.
Maragos emphasized the positive outcomes of efforts to enhance Armenia-EU ties, attributing it to mutual political commitment and shared values of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. The EU has been providing support to Armenia in various areas such as economic and judicial reforms, interconnectivity, regional connections, and peace-building.
He also mentioned progress in negotiations for the partnership program and the formation of a new team of European institutions working towards strengthening Armenia-EU relations. The EU is committed to unleashing the full potential of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union.
