Support for Palestine and Lebanon: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Reaches out to Saudi Arabia
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar recently held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to express their unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Lebanon amidst ongoing conflicts in both regions.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the two diplomats also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries along with regional and international developments.
Israel’s military offensive in Gaza has claimed the lives of over 42,000 Palestinians in the past year, while Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in conflict since escalated tensions in October 7, 2023. Despite calls for ceasefire, the fighting continues to displace and harm civilians.
7th Pakistan-KSA Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum
Meanwhile, the 7th Pakistan-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum was recently held in Riyadh. Pakistani Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lieutenant General Muhammad Avais Dastgir, led the discussion on enhancing defence cooperation and capacity building for the Royal Saudi Defence Forces.
The forum highlighted the need for further collaboration in critical defence capabilities, acknowledging Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability.
