Azerbaijani Parliament Condemns Biased Resolutions from Netherlands

The Azerbaijani Parliament has responded strongly to two resolutions recently adopted by the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Netherlands. The resolutions, passed on October 10, 2024, were criticized for being biased political acts that unfairly targeted Azerbaijan and misrepresented the situation in the South Caucasus region.

In a statement, the Azerbaijani Parliament denounced the resolutions as harmful to peace, stability, and constructive dialogue. The Parliament argued that the resolutions were based on false information, ignored recent history and international legal norms, and failed to address the challenges present in the region.

The Azerbaijani Parliament particularly took issue with the portrayal of individuals accused of serious crimes within Azerbaijan as ‘Armenian military prisoners’. This labeling was seen as disrespectful to the rule of law and hindered efforts to combat terrorism.

The statement also criticized the Netherlands’ House of Representatives for overlooking the destruction of Azerbaijani cultural heritage during the occupation by Armenia. The Parliament called for mutual respect and acknowledgment of facts in order to establish peace and stability in the region.
