Amnesty International Condemns Israel’s Suppression of Media Coverage in Gaza

In a recent statement, Amnesty International has raised concerns over Israel’s continued efforts to hide the atrocities committed during the genocidal war in Gaza. The Israeli government has been accused of preventing foreign journalists from accessing Palestinian territories, particularly the Gaza Strip.

The organization’s remarks were made during a press conference organized by the International Human Rights Organization, Tunisia Branch, in the Tunisian capital. The event, titled “The Voice of Palestine, Tones of Freedom and the Call for Human Rights,” shed light on the suppression of media coverage in the region.

Tragically, the Government Media Office in Gaza recently reported that the death toll of Palestinian journalists has risen to 176 since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. This devastating number includes the recent killing of journalist Mohammed al-Tanani, a photographer for Al-Aqsa channel.
