Sharjah-Bound Air India Flight Faces Hydraulic Failure Mid-Air, Lands Safely in Trichy

A Sharjah-bound Air India Flight faced hydraulic failure mid-air, compelling it to return to Trichy. The plane circled over the city for nearly two hours to burn off excess fuel. The Boeing 737 with 141 passengers onboard successfully landed at 8:15 pm, following the take-off from Trichy Airport at 5:45 pm.

Authorities were alerted about the landing gear issue, prompting an emergency response at Trichy airport. Despite being granted permission for a belly landing, the pilot managed to touch down safely. An internal investigation has been initiated by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to determine the cause of the snag.

The Air India Express spokesperson assured that the issue will be thoroughly investigated. An alternative aircraft will be arranged to transport passengers to Sharjah. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin commended the crew for the safe landing and directed officials to ensure passenger safety and assistance.
