The United Nations has accused Israel of deliberately destroying Gaza’s health care system during its conflict with Hamas, labeling the actions as war crimes. The UN report cited incidents of Israeli forces targeting medical personnel, vehicles, and facilities in the besieged Palestinian enclave. These attacks resulted in a severe shortage of essential supplies and limited access to medical treatment for patients in Gaza.
In response, the Israeli foreign ministry denied the accusations, portraying the operations as necessary measures to counter terrorist activities by Hamas, including the use of medical facilities for military purposes. The report also highlighted war crimes committed by Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups, emphasizing the mistreatment of Israeli hostages and detainees.
The UN report is set to be presented to the General Assembly on October 30, following previous allegations of war crimes by both Israel and Hamas in the Gaza conflict.
