Trump, Harris neck and neck in 7 key states: ‘Tied race’

A recent Wall Street Journal poll reveals a tight race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in seven battleground states, suggesting that the 2024 election is evenly contested.

In key states like North Carolina and Wisconsin, Trump and Harris are tied, while Harris leads in Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan. Trump, on the other hand, has a lead in Nevada and Pennsylvania.

The pollster, Democrat Michael Bocian, emphasized the closeness of the race, calling it an “even-steven, tight, tight race.” Overall, Trump leads Harris by one percentage point across the battleground states, with strong partisan support for both candidates.

On key issues, voters trust Trump more on the economy, inflation, and immigration, while they lean towards Harris on housing affordability, abortion, and healthcare. The poll also found that voters believe Trump is better suited to stand up for American workers.

Republican pollster David Lee cautioned that the race could go down to the wire, emphasizing the crucial role the final weeks will play. With third-party support dwindling, the race has tightened considerably.
