Trump, Harris in tight race: WSJ poll | US Election 2024 News

A new Wall Street Journal poll reveals a tight race between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican rival Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election. The two candidates are neck-and-neck in six of the seven battleground states crucial for victory.

While Harris leads in Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan, Trump is ahead in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Nevada. The survey of 600 registered voters per state conducted between September 28 and October 8 shows fluctuating poll results.

The battleground states

These swing states will play a pivotal role in determining the outcome of the election, with Trump securing most battleground states in 2016 despite losing the popular vote. National polls show Harris leading by a slight margin, but the race is expected to be close.

Senate race

In addition to the presidential race, control of the Senate is also up for grabs. A New York Times poll suggests Democrats may lose a crucial seat, potentially shifting the balance of power. Republicans are eyeing Senate seats in various states, posing a challenge for the Democrats.
