The Chronicle of the 16th Day of the Second Karabakh War
On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army launched a counter-offensive operation known as the “Iron Fist” in response to Armenian provocations along the frontline. After 44 days of intense combat, Azerbaijan successfully liberated its territories from nearly 30 years of Armenian occupation.
Highlights of the 16th day of the war include President Ilham Aliyev’s interview with Turkish media, Armenian forces targeting Aghdam district resulting in casualties, and Azerbaijani troops destroying Armenian UAVs. Mobile support points were set up for Azerbaijani forces, and videos were shared from liberated villages like Suleymanly in Jabrayil district.
Tragically, missile attacks by Armenia on Ganja city resulted in the deaths of 10 innocent civilians. The conflict showcased Azerbaijan’s determination to reclaim its land and defend its people against foreign aggression.
