Recently, a horrifying incident took place in Wonduruba, Central Equatoria State, where armed men in military uniforms invaded a village and mercilessly killed ten innocent civilians. The attack occured shortly after Governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo’s visit to the area, following clashes between government-affiliated militias and rebel forces.

Bishop Matthew Taban of the Wonduruba Diocese was shocked by the massacre, which included the deaths of a pastor and a nurse. The violence left a total of ten individuals dead and four others injured, sparking outrage among the community.

Lawmaker Amule Jongolose condemned the barbaric act and called for a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. Meanwhile, SSPDF spokesperson Maj. Gen. Lul Rau Koang confirmed the fighting but lacked details on the incident.

The situation in Wonduruba remains tense, with over a hundred people displaced and seeking shelter in nearby locations. The National Salvation United Forces (NASU) expressed their side of the story, claiming they were under attack and acted in self-defense.
