Sanchez Urges International Community: Halt Arms Sales to Israel.

In a bold statement, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez urged the international community to halt arms sales to Israel after condemning attacks on United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon by Israeli forces. Reports revealed that a UN helicopter was targeted, injuring two peacekeepers, amidst ongoing clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

Thankfully, no Spanish soldiers were harmed during the attack, as confirmed by the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Spain currently has 650 peacekeepers stationed in Lebanon, with a Spanish general leading the mission.

Following a meeting with Pope Francis, Sanchez reaffirmed Spain’s stance against Israel’s aggression, highlighting their decision to cease arms sales to Israel in October 2023. Calling for global solidarity, he implored other nations to follow suit to prevent further destabilization in the region.

Sanchez’s call to action aligns with growing concerns over the escalating conflict in the Middle East, stressing the importance of international cooperation in promoting peace and security.
