Police have issued a warning after a Facebook Marketplace listing of a luxury Rolex watch attracted armed thieves to invade a home in Adelaide.
Police have revealed that the armed robbery was sparked by an online sale.
The victim listed a Rolex for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $37,000, which led the intruders to target the home.
The victim, who had sold the watch, emphasized the importance of deleting previous online listings to avoid such incidents.
“Previous listings online can still be seen unless you actually go into your profile to delete them,” he said.
Police are urging everyone to be cautious when buying or selling online, reminding them to delete old listings and stay vigilant.
