PDP’s NWC suspends Damagum, Anyanwu and Ologunagba

PDP’s NWC suspends Damagum, Anyanwu and Ologunagba

A dramatic turn of events unfolded in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a power struggle within the party led to a series of suspensions. Just four hours after the directive to step aside was issued to the National Publicity Secretary and National Legal Adviser, a counter statement emerged, suspending the Acting National Chairman and National Secretary.

Signed by Debo Ologunagba, the statement highlighted allegations of gross violation of the party’s constitution by Amb. Umar Damagum and Sam Anyanwu. The National Working Committee of the PDP took action against them for their reported anti-party activity.

The NWC condemned the actions of the Acting National Chairman and National Secretary, citing violations of the PDP Constitution and their Oath of Office. As a result, Damagum and Anyanwu were suspended and referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.

During this suspension period, both officials are barred from participating in any NWC meetings, activities, or programs. The power struggle within the PDP appears to be intensifying, setting the stage for a potential showdown within the party leadership.
