North Korea alleges South infiltrated border with propaganda drones

Tensions escalated between North and South Korea as Pyongyang accused Seoul of sending unmanned drones carrying propaganda leaflets to its airspace. North Korea issued a “final ultimatum” warning South Korea to stop the alleged provocations, claiming it could be considered a military attack.

South Korea’s Defense Minister denied the accusations, stating that they had not sent any drones into North Korea. Despite official denials, South Korean activists have a history of flying balloons with propaganda leaflets and currency over the border, angering Pyongyang.

In response to the alleged drone incursions, North Korea has retaliated by sending trash-filled balloons towards South Korea. The escalating tensions come after North Korea announced it would “permanently shut off and block the southern border” with South Korea.
