Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has called for an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of UN Resolution 1701. Following a cabinet meeting at the Grand Serail, the government has officially requested the UN Security Council to demand a ceasefire and the enforcement of the resolution.
Mikati emphasized the importance of a ceasefire and preparing for the upcoming Paris conference on October 24. He condemned Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and urged the international community to take action.
The PM also stressed the need to elect a president swiftly and reassured the public that the government was working to address the nation’s challenges. Mikati highlighted the importance of respecting property rights in all operations at the airport, borders, and ports.
