Tragedy Strikes in Lebanon: Paramedics Killed in Israeli Airstrikes

The recent Israeli airstrikes on the southern Lebanese town of Dardghaya in Tyre have resulted in the tragic deaths of five rescue workers. The civil defence body of Lebanon reported that the workers were targeted while inside the civil defence center in Dardghaya, where they were on alert to receive emergency calls. This devastating attack also caused damage to a nearby church and a residential home.

Among the victims was Abdullah Al-Moussawi, the head of the Tyre Regional Centre in the Lebanese Civil Defense, who had expressed concerns about the safety of his team just a week prior. The Lebanese Health Ministry has condemned these airstrikes and called for international intervention to protect rescue and ambulance teams.

With over 100 paramedic deaths from Israeli airstrikes reported so far, the situation remains dire. The international community must take a stand against these attacks on essential frontline workers. It is crucial to uphold the sanctity of humanitarian law and protect those who risk their lives to save others.
