The Egyptian government has put to rest the rumors about the sale of Egyptian airports, clarifying that they are not for sale but rather undergoing management and operational changes to enhance service quality. Minister of Civil Aviation, Mohamed Manar Enany, emphasized that the airports are state-owned and are crucial to Egyptian sovereignty.
Enany outlined a comprehensive strategy to develop and upgrade Egyptian airports, aligning with international standards to provide better passenger services. He highlighted the importance of the Ras El Hekma Airport project, set to transform the region into a premier global destination spanning 44 kilometers along the Mediterranean coast.
Ras El Hekma aims to attract at least 8 million additional tourists to Egypt upon completion, with plans for a new international airport to boost economic development in the area. This integrated city project will cover 170 million square meters, offering numerous investment opportunities to stimulate the tourism sector.
The Egyptian government’s focus on private sector involvement signals a new era for civil aviation, with projects like Ras El Hekma Airport set to propel Egypt onto the world stage as a top tourist destination.
