Constitutional Package to be Delayed Until After SCO Moot – Pakistan

PPP and PML-N Join Forces to Incorporate Fazl’s Suggestions on Constitutional Amendment

PPP and PML-N have decided to delay the constitutional amendment until after the SCO summit to include Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s suggestions, aiming to secure a two-thirds majority in parliament. In a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, both parties agreed to accommodate the Maulana’s input on the proposed ‘Constitutional Package.’

Furthermore, the JUI-F is set to present its draft of suggestions at a parliamentary committee meeting today. The committee, led by PPP’s Khursheed Shah, includes representation from all parties, aiming to foster reconciliation among lawmakers.

Both PPP and PML-N leaders are committed to implementing the Charter of Democracy signed in 2006 and praised the stability of the country’s economy and decline in inflation. They emphasized the need for judicial reform and political consensus on constitutional amendments.

PPP highlighted the importance of establishing constitutional courts and judicial reforms to ensure swift justice for the common man, while PML-N advocated for a balanced power structure through judicial reforms.
