Beirut rocked by deadliest attacks on city center

Beirut was rocked by deadly Israeli strikes that hit residential areas in central Beirut on Thursday evening, resulting in 22 deaths and over 100 injuries. These attacks were the deadliest since Israel intensified its bombardment campaign on Lebanon two weeks ago.

The strikes targeted two locations in central Beirut, causing buildings to collapse and widespread devastation. Residents were left shaken by the powerful blasts, with one likening it to an earthquake.

Rescuers worked tirelessly to clear the rubble, while wounded individuals sought medical attention and residents prepared to flee the area. The Israeli strikes have primarily targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs, but this was only the third time the city center was hit.

The atmosphere remained tense as security forces cordoned off the area, and Hezbollah announced the cancellation of a press conference due to the unfolding events. The strikes have fueled tensions in the region, with casualties and displacement mounting in the ongoing conflict.

Despite the destruction and chaos, Beirut continues to stand strong in the face of adversity.
