BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. In a recent interview with TV Berlin, Elchin Amirbayov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, emphasized the importance of Armenia aligning its Constitution with the terms of the draft peace agreement to demonstrate a genuine commitment to peace with Azerbaijan.
Amirbayov highlighted the need for Armenia to match its official rhetoric, including Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements recognizing Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, with concrete actions such as amending the constitution. He expressed skepticism towards Armenia’s readiness to sign a peace agreement immediately, calling it a tactic to mislead the international community.
According to Amirbayov, Armenia’s behavior aims to buy time and delay the peace process. He stressed that true commitment to peace requires tangible actions and urged Armenia to move beyond mere declarations. To achieve lasting peace, Armenia must translate its words into concrete steps towards reconciliation with Azerbaijan.
