Armenian President speaks at Magtymguly Fragi conference in Turkmenistan

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan recently attended a prestigious international conference in Ashgabat commemorating the 300th birthday of renowned Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi. The event, themed Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development, was graced by the presence of several distinguished world leaders including Presidents of Turkmenistan, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

In his address, President Khachaturyan highlighted the significant cultural impact of Magtymguly Fragi on Turkmenistan’s literary heritage, praising his enduring influence on global generations. The president praised Magtymguly’s peace-centric poetry, emphasizing its universal message of harmony and unity.

The Armenian President also shared his excitement about the upcoming presentation of an Armenian translation of Magtymguly Fragi’s selected works in Ashgabat. Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedow recognized President Khachaturyan’s efforts in promoting the poet’s legacy by awarding him a medal in honor of Magtymguly Fragi’s 300th birth anniversary.
