Ajit Pawar Leaves Maharashtra Cabinet Meet Early for Another Event, All is Well

Last Updated:

Pawar’s brief attendance at a crucial cabinet meeting in Mumbai Thursday had raised eyebrows, particularly as numerous financially significant decisions were taken in his absence even though he is the finance minister

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar addressed speculation regarding his early departure from a state cabinet meeting, insisting that all is well within the ruling Mahayuti alliance. He spoke during a press conference after welcoming actor Sayaji Shinde to the NCP, remaining non-committal on contesting from the Baramati assembly seat until seat-sharing arrangements are finalized.

Pawar stated that his early exit was due to a prior commitment in Marathwada and affirmed that all cabinet decisions made in his absence had his approval. Despite concerns raised over his absence during important financial decisions, Pawar assured that there were no disputes within the cabinet.

Amid ongoing seat-sharing discussions, Pawar hinted at a smooth process within the alliance and confirmed the gradual addition of more members to the NCP for the upcoming elections, with Sayaji Shinde playing a prominent role in campaigning.
