In an exciting development, President William Ruto has announced that an additional 600 Kenyan police officers will be deployed to Haiti in November as part of the Multinational Security Support mission. During a joint press conference with Haiti Prime Minister Garry Conille, President Ruto reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to assisting the troubled Caribbean nation.

Dr. Conille will also meet with African countries to discuss security crisis solutions in Haiti.

During previous visits, officers mentioned challenges in Haiti, including the need for resources and issues with their compensation. Notably, two gang leaders have been arrested, with ongoing efforts to restore peace in the region. The International Organization for Migration reported on the difficult living conditions of displaced individuals, reflecting the ongoing turmoil in the country.
