Over 2,000 Turkish citizens and some foreigners have started boarding a Turkish military ship to escape Israel’s airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon. Among them is Zehra Cibbin, who decided to leave Beirut with her family out of fear for their lives.
The evacuation operation includes six ships transporting humanitarian supplies and evacuees. Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon states the mission aims to provide aid and ensure the safe return of citizens in a difficult situation.
Residents of Bulgaria, Romania, and Kazakhstan are also part of the evacuation. Turkish officials plan to conduct more sea evacuations as needed and may organize charter flights for repatriation.
The conflict between Israel, Hezbollah, and Hamas has escalated, leading to casualties and displacements. Turkey’s President has voiced strong opposition to Israel’s actions during a legislative meeting.
