Samidoun, a Canada-registered organization aligned with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), has been designated as a terrorist organization by the Dutch Parliament, following similar actions by Israel and Germany. The motion, proposed by Dutch politician Diederick van Dijk, passed with a vote of 100 to 50.
Despite the EU designating PFLP as a terrorist group, Samidoun has been operating freely in many European countries, promoting propaganda for indicted Palestinian terrorists. Van Dijk emphasized the importance of combatting terrorism and antisemitism, stating that organizations like Samidoun do not belong in the Dutch rule of law.

The motion aims to place Samidoun on the national sanctions list for terrorism, aligning with recent actions by Meta and YouTube to block the organization’s online platforms. The European Jewish Congress applauded the decision as a crucial step in protecting democratic values.
Van Dijk’s efforts to prevent Samidoun from carrying out activities in public further highlight the importance of this move. The organization’s role in inciting violence and spreading hate underscores the significance of cracking down on such groups to safeguard societal harmony.
