The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that they successfully eliminated Adham Jahout, a member of Hezbollah’s “Golan Network,” in a targeted airstrike in southwestern Syria. Jahout was responsible for relaying crucial information from Syrian regime sources to Hezbollah, aiding in operations against Israel in the Golan Heights.
Despite the Israeli military’s statement, there has been no immediate response from Syria or Hezbollah. However, Syria’s state news agency reported that one internal security officer was killed and another wounded in the Israeli strike on the eastern entrance of Quneitra city.
Israel has been actively conducting airstrikes in Syria since 2011, targeting not only government forces but also Iranian troops and Hezbollah operatives. This latest strike reaffirms Israel’s commitment to defending its borders and preventing threats posed by hostile groups in the region.
