Exciting News for Electric Car Enthusiasts in Azerbaijan! The government has extended the VAT exemption on the import and sale of second- and third-level electric chargers for electric cars for another two years. This move is set to revolutionize the electric car market in the country.
With the global push towards environmental sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, the use of electric vehicles has been on the rise. Azerbaijan, in its commitment to combat climate change, is making significant strides in promoting electric transportation.
The extended tax exemption will not only encourage the establishment of more charging stations but also improve the existing infrastructure. This will make it more convenient for drivers to charge their electric cars, ultimately supporting a broader adoption of electric vehicles.
Currently, Azerbaijan has around 60 charging points in Baku, two in Sumgayit, and up to 35 in the regions. The government plans to install charging stations at 147 locations this year, with a significant number in Baku and the regions, including Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
