In a recent address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of Ukraine securing and deploying advanced missiles for faster results on the battlefield. He highlighted a meeting with top commanders discussing the development of domestic weapons supplies in the ongoing war against Russia, focusing on drones, electronic warfare, and the deployment of missiles to effectively confront Russian forces.
Zelenskyy stressed the need for quicker combat accomplishments and urged a special emphasis on Ukraine’s national missile program to achieve success both at the frontlines and on Russian territory. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has sought support from Western allies, particularly the US, for sophisticated long-range missiles while also prioritizing the rapid growth of its domestic arms industry.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced upcoming developments in new missiles, including ballistic missiles, marking Ukraine’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities. With a focus on advancing military technology, Ukraine aims to strengthen its position in the conflict through strategic weapons development.
