Turkish navy ships deliver aid and evacuate Beirut citizens

Turkish navy ships arrived at a port in Beirut to provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon and evacuate Turkish citizens in need. The two ships, capable of housing 2,000 passengers, carried around 300 tons of aid like food, tents, and blankets, as confirmed by the Turkish Defense Ministry.

Rear Adm. Nihat Baran, leading the evacuation mission, stated that the operation was initiated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to ensure the safety of Turkish citizens residing in Lebanon. Additionally, individuals from Bulgaria, Romania, and Kazakhstan also requested evacuation assistance.

These ships are part of a larger convoy of six vessels that set sail from the port of Mersin. The Turkish Foreign Ministry mentioned that further evacuations will be arranged as needed, demonstrating Turkey’s commitment to aiding those affected by the current crisis in the region.
