Six foreigners held in drug trafficking probe

Six foreigners were detained in South Sudan on suspicion of drug trafficking, as reported by Deputy Police Spokesperson Maj. Lith Wilson Simon on Radio Tamazuj. The individuals, identified as Kosovo nationals, were apprehended at Juba International Airport by the Criminal Investigation Department officers. The suspects were transferred to police custody at Northern Police Station for further investigation under Article 383 of the South Sudan Penal Code.

Following a successful operation by CID personnel at the airport, the arrest was made, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the region. The public was encouraged to report any suspicious behavior to aid in crime prevention. Kosovo, a country in southeast Europe with contested recognition, remains a point of tension with neighboring Serbia. Despite Kosovo’s partial diplomatic recognition, Serbia continues to claim it as part of its territory.
