PTI Leaders Meet with JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to Discuss Constitutional Amendments
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders recently held a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss proposed constitutional amendments. PTI leader Salman Akram Raja mentioned that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is standing firm on his stance regarding these amendments, which he described as ‘historical’.
Raja expressed optimism by stating that good news can be expected in the upcoming days as a result of these discussions. He added that all PTI lawmakers are safe and in contact with the party, addressing concerns about their whereabouts prior to a potential parliament session for the passage of these amendments.
During the meeting, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan described the discussions as ‘productive’ and emphasized unity for the nation, parliament, and an independent judiciary. The JUI-F chief, on the other hand, expressed concerns over the proposed amendments, stating they were aimed at ‘protecting’ the government.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman highlighted the importance of safeguarding fundamental rights and preventing any legislation that could compromise human rights or undermine the judicial system.
