From November 2021, the Digital Life Certificate i.e. ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ can also be submitted by face authentication from an android smartphone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ programme for allowing submission of life certificates digitally. Since 2014, over 8.75 crore digital life certificates have been submitted, with 1.47 crore in 2023, including 25 lakh by face authentication. The government plans to further promote this technology.
