PDP blames suspended SE vice chair for Ebonyi crisis

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogudu Okwor Ward, Oshiri in Ebonyi State has accused Chief Ali Odefa, the suspended National Vice Chairman, South East of the party, of instigating a crisis within the state chapter. The accusation came after the arrest, prosecution, and remand of some PDP chieftains in the ward, allegedly orchestrated by Odefa using thugs and unverified individuals.

Chief Herbert Ovuta, the Acting Chairman of the PDP in the ward, condemned Odefa’s actions and emphasized that resorting to violence and intimidation is undemocratic. Ovuta highlighted that the embattled Vice Chairman’s suspension was due to alleged anti-party activities and deemed his actions as unlawful.

In response, Odefa claimed that the arrested PDP chieftains were involved in forgery and asserted that the ward executives had no authority to suspend him. He urged for a fair resolution through the disciplinary committee and a court of competent jurisdiction.
