Over 300 Evacuated from Jablanica and Konjic Area

Overnight, the population in the municipalities of Jablanica and Konjic were evacuated due to heavy rainfall and an orange warning issued by the Federal Administration of Civil Protection. A partial evacuation took place in Buturović Polje and Raotići in Konjic, with some residents refusing to leave.

According to Darko Juka, head of public relations for the HNK Government, a total of 330 residents were evacuated, although there may be others seeking help elsewhere.

Last week, flooding and landslides claimed the lives of 22 people in BiH, with 19 in HNK and 3 in Fojnica. The disaster also caused significant damage, prompting support from neighboring countries, the EU, Turkey, and others.

The ongoing emergency serves as a reminder of the importance of swift action and preparedness in the face of natural disasters to protect lives and minimize damage.
