North Korea to sever all road, rail links with South Korea

Welcome to our Blog

Amid escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea announced on Wednesday its decision to cut off roads and railway connections with South Korea. This move comes as a response to war exercises conducted by South Korea and the frequent presence of US strategic nuclear assets in the region.

The General Staff of North Korea’s army expressed concerns about the increasing confrontational actions of hostile forces, threatening the sovereignty of the country. In light of this, Pyongyang has decided to completely sever transportation links with South Korea and strengthen defense structures along the border.

In recent months, tensions have intensified following joint military drills between South Korea and the US, as well as North Korea’s missile launches. The unveiling of a uranium enrichment facility and threats against South Korean ports and military bases have further fueled the situation.

South Korean President Yoon Sul Yeol warned of grave consequences if North Korea were to use nuclear weapons. The volatile situation on the Korean Peninsula underscores the urgent need for diplomacy and de-escalation efforts.
