Nigeria Labour Congress Demands Reversal of Fuel Price Hike
The Nigeria Labour Congress has strongly condemned the recent increase in the price of petrol, demanding an immediate reversal by the government. The union, led by president Joe Ajaero, criticized the government for focusing solely on fuel price increments and called for a comprehensive economic growth plan.
The NLC accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited of monopolizing pricing decisions, further worsening the financial burden on citizens. The recent spike in fuel prices has significantly impacted Nigerians, leading to increased poverty and job losses.
The NLC urged the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens by rolling back the price hike and providing a clear roadmap for national development. This move comes after some NNPC stations in Abuja raised petrol prices to N1,030 per litre from N897.
