The Federal Government, under the directive of President Bola Tinubu, is intensifying efforts to rid the Northwest region of bandits, terrorists, and criminal gangs. Minister of State Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, announced a new onslaught in Sokoto to flush out these culprits, with successful achievements already recorded in restoring peace in Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina states.
Operation Fansan Yamma is ongoing to continue the fight against criminals, with unwavering commitment from the government to boost the morale of troops and ensure the safety of the people. Matawalle emphasized the collaboration with governors, political leaders, clerics, and stakeholders to achieve the targeted goals.
The recent killing of notorious terrorist kingpin Halilu Sububu and 38 others by the Nigerian Air Force demonstrates progress in the fight against criminal activities. Matawalle also commended the support of Gov. Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto and called for unity in the efforts to bring the bandits down through both kinetic and non-kinetic methods.
