Stephan Wagner, a 61-year-old businessman and educator, appeared in Campbelltown court today facing charges for the attempted murder of his wife, Glenda Wagner, aged 66.
Last month, Glenda fell seriously ill after consuming tea that was suspected to be laced with insecticides, which police believe was prepared by her own husband, Stephan.
Glenda was hospitalized for weeks following the alleged poisoning, which led to Stephan’s arrest at their family home. Stephan, known for his work with governmental departments, including the CSIRO, now faces charges of poisoning with intent to murder.
Police found a bottle of insecticide at the residence, sent for further examination. Stephan, now in custody, awaits his next court appearance in December.
