In the short time of the GNU, the basic and higher education ministers have fluffed their lines, unlike some of their ministerial counterparts

09 October 2024 – 22:05

As we surpass 100 days of the government of national unity, scrutiny turns to the performance of our education ministers. It may be too early to deliver a final judgment on these novice politicians, but it is enough time to speculate on their potential trajectory over the next 1,000 days or until the GNU era ends.

Despite some of their ministerial counterparts excelling in their roles, the basic and higher education ministers seem to have stumbled in delivering on their responsibilities. With education being a crucial pillar for national development, the performance of these ministers becomes even more significant.

Whether they can overcome their current challenges and steer the education sector towards growth and improvement remains to be seen. The next phase of their tenure will be telling in determining the impact they have on shaping the future of education in our nation.
