Indications of revolt against pro-coalition regime in Taiz observed – Yemen Press Agency

The “Coordination Council of Trade Unions and Civil Society Organizations” in Taiz has demanded the Saudi-led coalition government to pay salaries to local and central authority employees, including the displaced, and implement settlements based on qualifications and years of service. The council emphasized the need to pay work, rural, and cost-of-living allowances to entitled individuals and implement the remaining stages of the Wages and Salaries Law.

Furthermore, the council highlighted that current salaries do not meet the basic needs of employees and their families, calling for an increase in the minimum wage and a reevaluation of salary grades to ensure a minimum salary equivalent to 100 US dollars. Urgent payment of cost-of-living allowances was also urged to address the rising prices of essential goods and stabilize the local currency.

It is essential for the government to prioritize the welfare of its employees and take concrete steps to alleviate financial hardships in Taiz.
