The Future of Gas Education in Nigeria: A Collaborative Effort

The Federal Government is teaming up with the National Board of Technical Education and the National Gas Expansion Programme to revolutionize gas education in Nigeria. A new curriculum is in the works to be implemented in monotechnics and Colleges of Education, aimed at equipping graduates with the necessary skills for entrepreneurship in the gas sector.

Technical education has been stagnant in Nigeria, and the need for a dynamic curriculum has become more apparent than ever. The goal is to bridge the skill gap and foster innovation in key sectors, especially in the gas industry.

The newly inaugurated Technical Working Group will focus on developing a comprehensive training curriculum covering various aspects of the gas value chain. This initiative also extends to partnerships for gas reticulation in buildings, aiming to create energy-smart cities with efficient utility distribution systems.

With these collaborative efforts, Nigeria is poised to become a leader in gas technology and innovation, setting the stage for a bright future in both technical education and infrastructure development.
