EU accuses Russia of ‘destabilizing actions’ – RT Russia & Former Soviet Union

Russia has accused Brussels and NATO of engaging in “hybrid warfare” against it, prompting the European Council to establish a new framework for restrictions targeting Russia’s alleged destabilizing actions abroad and hybrid threats. This new mechanism will allow Brussels to sanction individuals and entities linked to the Russian government, aiming to counteract threats such as disinformation and interference in electoral processes.

NATO recently accused Russia of malign activities and hybrid operations in EU countries, leading to a rebuttal from Moscow, with accusations of disinformation and anti-Russian hysteria. In response to bans on Russian media outlets in the EU, Moscow imposed its own restrictions on EU media.

Russian officials have warned about the dangers of hybrid warfare, with fears of potential nuclear confrontation. President Putin even suggested changes to Russia’s nuclear doctrine in response to perceived threats. This ongoing situation has intensified tensions between Russia and the West, with accusations and countermeasures being exchanged on both sides.
