Brazil’s Supreme Court has lifted the ban on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, after it paid fines and blocked accounts spreading misinformation. Anatel, Brazil’s telecoms watchdog, has been tasked with ensuring service resumes for over 20 million users within 24 hours. Despite initial resistance, X eventually complied with the court’s demands, leading to the lifting of the ban. With Brazil being one of the biggest markets for the platform globally, boasting an estimated 22 million users, X expressed pride in returning to the country.
