Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi began his regional tour in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During the meeting, bin Salman expressed concern about the escalating crisis in the region and emphasized the importance of protecting regional stability and security.
Both officials discussed the positive progress in bilateral relations over the past year and reaffirmed their commitment to further improving ties between the two countries. Araghchi emphasized President Masoud Pezeshkian’s government’s focus on strengthening relations with neighboring countries to enhance regional stability, security, and economic cooperation.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also called for cooperation among regional countries to halt military attacks by the Zionist regime and prevent further destruction in Gaza and Lebanon. Both Saudi and Iranian officials agreed on the need for continued cooperation and consultations on bilateral and regional issues.
Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, Araghchi headed to Doha, Qatar, to discuss regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and Lebanon.
