US President Joe Biden criticized Donald Trump for spreading misinformation regarding the government’s response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Biden condemned the “reckless and relentless promotion of disinformation,” urging a focus on rescue efforts as Hurricane Milton headed towards Florida.

False claims from Trump and Republicans targeted FEMA, alleging fund diversion to migrants and confiscation of property. Biden emphasized the need for accurate information to assist storm-affected communities.

Biden also called out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for promoting unfounded theories, including the idea of the government controlling weather. As Hurricane Milton approached, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris urged evacuation and prevention of price gouging on essential goods.

The White House postponed trips to focus on storm response after initial criticism. Biden stressed the severity of the situation and emphasized the importance of swift action in the face of severe weather threats.
