Assam CM Hands Over Appointment Letters to 385 Youths Promising to Surpass 150,000 Recruits by 2025
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over appointment letters to 385 youths in the health and education sectors, exceeding the government’s election promise.
With these new appointments, a total of 125,030 people have been given government jobs since Sarma took office in May 2021.
Sarma stated, “Our government fulfilled its election promise of providing one lakh jobs long ago, creating many jobs in a transparent and efficient manner.
Initially pledging one lakh government jobs annually, the BJP clarified that the figure is for the entire five-year tenure.
The Chief Minister mentioned ongoing efforts to fill 35,000 additional posts, aiming to surpass 150,000 recruits by May 2025.
He highlighted that Health, Education, and Police departments saw the highest number of recruitments in the past three years.
Out of the new recruits, 284 were appointed in the Education Department, while 101 joined the Health and Family Welfare Department.
